Did you know the skin around the eyes is the most fragile skin, more prone to dryness and is the first area to show signs of age and fatigue. For this reason, eye creams are an important part to the daily home care routine. Everyday, our eyes are blinking, squinting and being rubbed so why not give them a little TLC? An eye cream can help with multiple concerns around the eye area such as dehydration, crows feet, dark circles, puffiness or prevent aging, a simple step can benefit those beautiful eyes in the long run.

Why use an eye cream over a regular face moisturizer?

This is a question I get a lot and you can most certainly use your eye cream on other areas of the face like the lips but a face moisturizer is too heavy for the eyes. The skin around the eyes, the pores are found to be almost 10 times smaller then the rest of the face so a face moisturizer will not be able to absorb as actively. In most cases a serum can be used around the area to boost the eye cream and give more hydration especially in dryer climates.

How to apply eye cream:

Remember, eye cream is more concentrated so a little goes a long way. Apply a small amount to the ring finger and pat under the eye, around the skin on the outside of the eye and the eyelid. I do the eyelid more in my evening home care routine.
